Topologi bintang ialah di mana semua kabel penyambung daripada komputer akan masuk ke satu lokasi pusat,di mana semua akan disambung ke peranti yang dikenali sebagai hab.Topologi bintang juga boleh di kembangkan untuk membentuk rangkaian yang dikenali sebagai topologi bintang hibrid iaitu sambungan dengan beberapa hab.Jika satu nod gagal,bintang tetap berfungsi.                                                                                                                            

• TOPOLOGI CINCIN

Topologi cincin ialah satu topologi rangkaian komputer di mana setiap nod disambungkan dengan dua nod yang lain,membentuk satu laluan sejajar tunggal untuk penghantaran isyrat terus ke setiap nod.Data akan melalui dari setiap nod ke setiap nod seterusnya,setiap laluan akan menerima setiap paket data.Jika satu nod gagal rangkaian sebelum nod gagal berfungsi.

Topologi bas dikenali sebagai linear ialah topologi rangkaian komputer yang paling mudah.Ia terdiri daripada satu kabel yang dikenali sebagai segment atau tulang belakang,yang menyambungkan semua komputer dalam rangkaian ke dalam satu barisan.Jika satu nod gagal,bas masih berfungsi.
